Our Story
Founded during the Gold Rush in May 1850, the Chamber has been a leading champion of entrepreneurialism and economic prosperity for more than 172 years. From the transcontinental railroad to the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, we have a long history of championing the initiatives that make San Francisco a global landmark.

Chamber partners include businesses of every size, industry and neighborhood across the City and region, as well as other business organizations, community benefit districts, and industry associations. We and our partners represent the nearly 250,000 employees of San Francisco businesses and their innovative work.
