SF Chamber CEO Announces Resignation

San Francisco, October 2, 2018: Tallia Hart, President & CEO of the ѻý, has resigned from her role with the organization to pursue other opportunities.

Hart, who lives in Marin County, has led the organization since a nationwide search led to her hiring in January 2017.  Her resignation is effective on October 31.

“Although I am extremely proud of the accomplishments that we have worked on together, I have decided that it is time for me to step down and focus on a positive quality of life,” Hart said.

During her time with the Chamber, Hart led a reorganization of the Chamber staff, strengthened the Chamber’s finances, and collaborated with Board leadership to develop a three-year strategic plan.  Hart implemented successful programming, such as WELL, a learning and success series for empowering women in the workplace.  She also led a revision of the bylaws, and increased the focus of membership and its importance to the health of the organization.

“We are grateful for Tallia’s service,” said Janis MacKenzie, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “She was the first woman, first diverse leader and youngest to lead our 167-year-old organization, during a time of growth and change in our city. The Chamber has benefited from her leadership and we will leverage those accomplishments as we build toward the future.”

“I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to work with so many amazing business leaders in San Francisco,” Hart added. “This has been an incredible experience and I am thankful for the many relationships that I built while working with the Chamber.  I was asked to modernize the organization and that’s what I did.  I’m proud of my incredibly successful 20 years of organizational management and look forward to my future.”
