Dear Member of the ѻý, Last week, the ѻý led a delegation of business and civic leaders to Washington, D.C. for CityTrip DC 2025. Our time on Capitol Hill underscored the importance of being present in the nation’s capital, ensuring that San Francisco’s needs are heard and prioritized at the federal level. Throughout our meetings with members of Congress–such as Speaker Emerita Pelosi, Rep. Lateefah Simon, and Rep. Mark DeSaulnier–and their staff had candid discussions about the challenges and opportunities facing San Francisco. We emphasized the critical need for sustained federal investment in our city. At a time when federal funding priorities are shifting, we cannot afford to be passive. Our advocacy is essential to securing the resources that drive our city’s economic vitality and quality of life. This year, we were proud to partner with the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce to present a united front for California’s largest economies. By working together, we reinforced the message that investments in our cities benefit not just our regions, but the entire country. Our joint panels featuring Senator Padilla and Senator Schiff on urban resilience and economic growth highlighted shared priorities, including workforce development, clean energy innovation, and public transit funding. I would also like to thank this year’s CityTrip DC sponsors, Amazon, United Airlines, and Alaska Airlines for making this trip possible. CityTrip DC reaffirmed what we know to be true—if we’re not in the room, decisions are made without us. San Francisco’s business community must continue to engage with federal leaders to ensure our city remains competitive, innovative, and well-supported. Sincerely, |
President andCEO
