The Golden Gate National Recreation Area has approved a permit for the Patriot Prayer group for a rally at Crissy Field on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2 p.m.
The City has no jurisdiction over Crissy Field. Crissy Field is owned and operated by the Federal Government and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) is responsible for permitting all events.
Our priority, as well as that of Mayor Edwin M. Lee and City departments, is the safety and well-being of the residents of San Francisco.
The San Francisco Police Department is working with the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and the United States Parks Police on a comprehensive public safety plan.
As a merchant, you may be impacted by the Crissy Field rally. Portions of the Presidio will be closed to through traffic, and neighboring corridors may become congested. Below is a comprehensive list of resources to remain safe during Saturday, August 26.
Traffic and Transit Plan for Saturday Demonstrations
The city has a transportation plan in place to ensure the safety of people who will need to get around, including Muni customers and employees. Where possible, please use public transit, walk, ride a bike or hail a taxi. There will be increased congestion in the surrounding areas and parking will be limited.
Resources for Impacts on Business
The San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development has issued this document with information on how businesses and their employees can report any local disturbances during hours of operation, including blocked driveways, parking lot closures, and important phone numbers.

The GGNRA, a partner of the SF Chamber, issued an advisory explaining the permitting process and business closures in the Presidio on Aug. 26.
SFPD Community Advisory
The San Francisco Police Department is collaborating closely with local, state and federal law enforcement partners to help facilitate First Amendment activity in a safe manner at each of these events. The Department has a comprehensive operational plan in place. While details of the plan are not for public release, those in attendance at these events can expect a large Police presence of both uniformed and undercover officers.
