What motivated you to own a Wallbeds “N” More store in San Francisco?
When you live in as beautiful a place as San Francisco, lots of other people want to live here as well. As I have watched the living spaces become more and more efficient, I wanted to offer a space saving solution that is an exceptionally well-made piece of furniture in a mid-range in price that allows people to use any room for multiple purposes.
I am very excited about being able to offer a product here that is a solution for so many issues in people’s homes at a reasonable price that looks and feels like you spent a lot more on it than you did.
What is truly special about having a Murphy bed or wallbed in one’s home?
Our Murphy beds are a great solution for the individual moving into their studio apartment for the first time that would like to have their bed, dresser and desk all in the same spot. Our beds would allow someone to do just that while not spending much more than they would on a well-made mattress, foundation, dresser, desk, and file cabinet. We also provide a perfect solution for the parents whose last child has left for college and, while they want them to come visit, they also need a home office. They can do that with one of these beds and have a beautiful piece of furniture as well.
Almost all our beds are made right here in California with several made just over in Benicia.
What other options or inventory does Wallbeds “N” More offer?
We are fortunate enough to offer sofas and chairs by “Stylus Made to Order”. We are also offering lighting and shelf pieces by Regina Andrew’s Design, bed linens by Pine Cone Hill, and rugs by Dash and Albert.
We are, also, privileged enough to have art on consignment by Alex Cole as well as several artists from the International Gallery here in San Francisco. We continue to look out for things that are a good fit for our showroom
Why is the showroom appointment-only?
Most of the people who buy one of our Wallbeds has it in their home for many years. Making a purchase like that becomes a more significant one when you consider that. And that people want to be able to sit and consider how the rest of their home works with the variety of stains and paints to choose from. This is the reason that our showroom is an appointment based showroom. We want our Wallbed Professionals to have as much time as someone needs to help plan out their room with their new Wallbed as well as the rug to accompany it, the bed linens that look the best, the art to hang next to it and the right desk lamp. And we want them to be able to make those decisions without pressure and without the distractions of other people walking around them during the conversation.
And for many people, their busy work schedules don’t allow them to be able to make it during routine business days. This way we can be flexible with their time and make sure we can find a time that works for them.
