Today Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Vallie Brown joined community and small business leaders to announce increased investment in the city’s programs to help small businesses.
“The Mayor clearly recognizes that having a thriving small business community and merchant corridors is crucial for continuing the diversity and economic vitality of San Francisco,鈥� said Rodney Fong, President & CEO of the 乌鸦传媒. 鈥淭hese budget inclusions take a very important step to easing some of the financial pressures on small businesses, and the Chamber is committed to helping our small business community take advantage of these new opportunities.”
Here are the details of the Mayor鈥檚 budget inclusions for Small Business:
– Permit & Fee Refund program: Will provide a rebate to small business owners for ongoing city fees and permits.
– Revolving Loan Fund: Provides small businesses access to low Interest loans; especially those that may not have the capital or credit to start or grow their business. These funds will provide a path for small businesses that don鈥檛 qualify for traditional bank loans. This resource will be made available to help prevent small businesses from entering into predatory lending that commonly imposes abusive and unfair terms to borrowers.
– SF Shines program: Provides grants, design assistance and project management to improve storefront fa莽ades and business interiors including signage, awnings, murals, ADA compliance upgrades, and historic preservation efforts. In addition to physical improvements to storefronts, the program provides branding and architectural design services.
– Community Cornerstones program: Provide financial assistance to small businesses and nonprofits to establish ground floor retail and office spaces in the City鈥檚 affordable housing development projects throughout San Francisco.
